Producer Bandla Ganesh has rebuffed the rumour doing the rounds that Malaika Arora Khan was paid Rs. 1 crore for Kevvu Keka song in 'Gabbar Singh'. "There is no truth in this," he categorically stated yesterday, without revealing the remuneration paid to the Munni sensation. He also revealed that many sizzlers were approached for the song.

"But we finally zeroed in on Malaika," he said. Natalia Kaur was one among the item girls who was offered the song. Speaking to some scribes, Ganesh also took exception to the proposition that music directors and lyricists should be given a share in the profits earned on music albums.

 "It is a good idea. But if we incur loss on the songs, will they be ready to share in the loss amount as well?" he argued. Ganesh also drove home the point that fighting the scourge of piracy has become very difficult. "If it should be stopped, the fans have to contribute a lot," he quipped.

Model-turned-actress Malaika Arora Khan says that production on the sequel of 2010 film 'Dabangg' is in full swing and the team can hardly wait for its release. The upcoming film will mark the directorial debut of the 39-year-old's actor husband Arbaaz Khan, who produced the first film. The film will again see Salman Khan reprise his cop act as Chulbul Pandey. "We are all very excited about the release of the film. The preparations are on in full swing. We are eagerly awaiting the release of the film on December 21," said Malaika.

The actress's item number 'Munni Badnaam Hui' in 'Dabangg' was a chartbuster. When asked if she will be seeing doing anything similar in the sequel, she said, "Well you will have to wait and see when the film releases. I cannot disclose anything at the moment." Actress Kareena Kapoor has been roped in to do an item number in the film. The main cast of the film – Sonakshi Sinha and Vinod Khanna - have been retained, except Sonu Sood. The new addition to the cast is southern star Prakash Raj, who plays the role of the main antagonist. Malaika walked the ramp for designer Vikram Phadnis at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour here last night, where the latter showcased his bridal collection 'Nazakat'.

Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan says his wife and co-producer Malaika Arora Khan has been his constant pillar of support throughout the making of 'Dabangg 2', which he directed. "She is my wife and she is the co-producer of the film. Right from the time I started making the film, from the subject of the film, to finalising the actors, where I will be shooting... I used to discuss everything with her," Arbaaz told IANS. "She was there as more of a sounding board. I wouldn't say she was creatively involved in the films, because that's not her job, that is not her domain and that is not what I wanted her to do. She is my wife and she is as much as the producer as I am," he added.

 Arbaaz says it is a natural progression for him to turn director. "It's a very natural progression in the film industry. People want to do different things. I always wanted to make a movie. It is just that there was an opportunity to be an actor early in my career, but I always at some stage wanted to make my movie, produce and direct a film and when the opportunity came to me, I had to avail it," he said. 'Dabangg 2', releasing Dec 21, features Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Prakash Raj.

To be on par with her gadget-savvy family members, actress Malaika Arora Khan says that over the years she too has become a gadget freak. She keeps herself abreast of new technologies, thanks to her actor-filmmaker husband Arbaaz Khan and other family members. "Over the years, I have become quite a gadget freak. I have become quite knowledgeable about the gadgets," Malaika told reporters Thursday at the Taiwan Excellence campaign press meet here.

"I have to be a gadget freak because if I don't then everybody in my house will make fun of me and I will be treated like an outcast. I've to know what is happening in the world outside. So, I think I am pretty much gadget-savvy," added the actress known for hit songs like 'Munni badnam'. She feels gadgets have "made life cool". "Our lives are covered by gadgets, there is nothing we can do without gadgets. Gone are the days, when you would write a diary," she said.

Malaika Arora Khan, who turned producer with 2010 superhit 'Dabangg', says she has no plans to return to acting but is open to item numbers. "Now I am enjoying making films. I am really enjoying being a producer. It is a very different aspect in my life, so that's what I love doing. I am not interested in acting," the 39-year-old said here Wednesday at the launch of Naturals Marvie lounge. Malaika featured in a few cameos at the start of her career in films like 'Bichhoo', 'Kaante' and 'Housefull'. She is game to dance in movies.

"I love dancing and I will continue doing that. I am very happy like this," added Malaika, who has grooved to popular numbers like 'Chhaiya chhaiya' and 'Munni badnaam'. Malaika, who has also judged TV shows like 'Nach Baliye', 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' and 'India's Got Talent', is also open to similar small screen assignments. "We are very busy making films right now and all our concentration is over there. That doesn't mean I don't want to do anything else, I will be doing other things as well," she said.
