Malaika Arora Khan was the showstopper for designer Vikram Phadnis at the second half of the Blenders’ Pride Fashion Tour, Hyderabad. The venue was jam-packed with people just waiting for a glimpse of the "Chaiyya Chaiyya' girl. And like a true Diva, she was greeted with loud cheers and whistles as she sashayed down the ramp.
Trying to get in a word across to Malaika can be quite a challenge but once you get past the thronging photographers and fans, she politely obliges.
Known for being the item girl with the oomph, Malaika still has no ambition to be seen in full-fledged roles. “Well, my other assignments keep me very busy. And honestly, the thought hasn’t even crossed my mind,” she smiles.

Hyderabad isn’t new to Malaika, who has been here “many many times”, as she says. “I have a lot of friends here and Namrata Shirodkar is one of them,” she shares, adding, “My visits to Hyderabad are really short. I mostly come here on work so it gets very difficult to meet friends.”
Her sizzling dance acts in Mahesh Babu’s 'Athidhi' and more recently, Pawan Kalyan’s 'Gabbar Singh', has left the audiences asking for more.
Will we see her in any more Tollywood films? She replies, “I’m good friends with Namrata so I did the song with her husband, but for now I’m working on a television project and I’m going to be very busy with production work. In fact, both Arbaaz and I are quite busy with Arbaaz Khan Productions until the middle of next year. So, where is the time for a new project?” she reasons.
